HISTORY

Judy Leslie, the proprietor of Stay and Play, has a long association with Lickey Hills Primary School. This began in 1985 when her daughter started in Reception. Her son also attended Lickey, beginning in 1989. She joined the P.T.A. and served on the committee for many years, being the Chairperson for some years. She later became a School Governor and Vice Chair of Governors.

In 1994, the Governing Body advertised for someone to set up an out of school care club. Judy and a business partner applied for and were awarded the opportunity to set up the after school care. The early years were difficult financially with only a handful of children attending, but once parents were sure the group was here to stay the numbers began to increase!! This took about two years but we were determined to provide good quality, safe, caring for the children of Lickey School

Judy began by running the group with another member of staff. As numbers increased new staff were employed until the maximum number of children of 48 was reached. This meant a staff of six, one being the manager. At this stage Judy became more administrative and the manager took on the day to day running of the group.

The staff have come and gone over the years but most have worked with the group for several years. All have been committed to the safety, wellbeing, growth and care of the children and we thank all of them for their time.

Stay and Play offers a safe, caring, fun and stimulating environment for up to 48 children both before and after school.

For all of the children we are just a short walk within school grounds, from their classroom to Stay and Play in the school dining hall. 

Established in 1994, we have years of experience and skills and knowledge which we offer to promote the well being of the children in our care.
